Sign the Petition to Tell big banks: On December 15, say no to the Keystone XL pipeline!
Redacción.- Rainforest Action Network (campaign leader).- Last week, we crashed the keynote speech by JPMorgan Chase CEO, Jamie Dimon, at a Wells Fargo forum for Wall Street investors. Dimon's security heavies prevented us from hand delivering to him the over 42K strong petition telling JPMorgan Chase to stop funding TransCanada, developer of the Keystone XL pipeline. But we won't be silenced.
JPMorgan Chase is a leading funder of TransCanada--and the #1 Wall Street funder of tar sands oil, one of the dirtiest forms of fossil fuels on the planet. This week JPMorgan Chase is deciding whether to lend even more money to TransCanada.
Today, we need your help making sure the message is loud and clear: it's time to #DefundTarSands and say NO to KXL.
Today, we are demanding Chase get on the right side of history and defund tar sands, starting with TransCanada and KXL.
We know that extreme fossil fuels like tar sands spell disaster for the climate, the environment and human rights. We need a rapid phase-out of extreme fossil fuels now! Yet the Keystone pipeline, if built, would facilitate decades of expanded tar sands extraction.
The time is now. JPMorgan Chase needs to get on the right side of history, and put an end to its financing of tar sands.
